Bearded Iris

Bearded Iris is a 12x16 alkyd on canvas. Interested buyers can contact me personally. Alkyd is an ail paint with a synthetic medium, which helps the paint dry quickly.

Just playing with new imagery. I think I like this. Any opinions? Maybe flowers for a while. I may run to the DeKalb Farmers Market tomorrow, while I have my 5 year old grandson with me, and pick up some flowers to paint all next week. Gotta do something different. I'm dying here.

  7. Really lovely, Margaret. Have fun at the farmer's market! I look forward to seeing more of your flowers. Maybe you'll get inspired at the sight of your grandson reaching for them, just so excited to touch them.

  8. Isn't it funny how artists, when they get really really good at something, get bored with it and want to try something else. I think that's the normal evolution of an artist's work and keeps us growing.

  10. Margaret,

Your pastel work has always been at the top of my list of favorite pastel artists. And this piece is no exception. The Iris is magnificent! I don't know if you remember my name but we have shown in some of the same outdoor shows (Fest. of the Masters, etc.) Please don't get discouraged. These last few years have been difficult for all of us. Keep up the GREAT work. Deborah

Have just brought home 5 gorgeous gerbera daisies and have ordered 10 siberian irises for next week. Will kep coming back to check on what you are doing if you feel like checking my blog where I'll be putting them I just started it and will also be putting drawings from my weekly lifedrawing sessions on there. have fun with the flowers, Trish, http://trisharmstrong-gibson.blogspot.com/

  12. Hi Margaret, I've followed your work for some time. Love figurative ...its what calls me. I have just started a blog myself and picked up 5 gerbera daisies a couple of days ago. Have been immersing myself in their splendor and exploring in whatever medium suits me. I had decided to buy a bunch of flowers every other week. have ordered siberian irises for next week. I was interested to see that you are also going this route. Will keep coming back to see what you are up to. If you're interested check my blog out. I just started it and have loaded four studio paintings and am adding an assortment of lifedrawings next. Will start putting weekly lifedrawings on as well.

  15. Margaret - I just joined your blog and saw this site for the first time today; your translation of what you see is absolutely incredible, and you should just keep doing whatever moves you regardless of what people say. I do love flowers, and who doesn't? Unless you're allergic to them!
