On my way to Cape Cod

I have spent a few broken hours in my new garage/studio. It's more garage than studio. No windows, no air or heat, no lighting. So I have to work with the garage door open. But I'm working! Here are a couple of things I'm finishing. Just trying to prove to you that I'm really back to work.

While you are all still sleeping tomorrow morning, I will be flying to Cape Cod, where I'll be teaching a 3 day pastel workshop this weekend. Looking forward to seeing some down-to-earth artists there again. I have fond memories from my last visit several years ago. I'll be staying with Ginny Nickerson (http://ginnynickerson.com) in her lovely Cape Cod home. Am anticipating a memorable escape. I hope to be blogging from there, if I can figure out how to do it with an ipad. Very complicated. If anybody has figured out a simple way to do it, please let me know.

Shameless plug here... I'll be carrying a beautiful new pastel box, constructed by the husband of one of my students. I'm trying the prototype out for them and will report to them how it worked. So far...pretty nice.

Oh. And look. I have tomatoes. I am salivating at the thought of tomato sandwiches soon.

  1. I used Blogsy to blog from my iPad in Italy last year and it worked just fine. You need to make sure any pictures aren't to big and I would recommend a couple of test runs to practice. Glad things are on the upturn for you and I wish you peace and a soothed heart.

  2. Hi Margaret! In response to your question about blogging on an iPad, I had lots of troubles too. You have to use an App. I tried the Blogger app, but it was designed more for a cellphone for quick posts. I then found the Blogsy app through the Apple App store and it is great! They have their own blog that tells and SHOWS you how to use it with many good videos. I used it on a trip out to Taos in April on my iPad mini. It isn't a free app, but I found it well worth the money! http://blogsyapp.com/ Glad to see you back in blog-o-sphere! We missed you!

  3. Nancy, can I link the Blogsy posts to my current blog on blogger.com and my subscribers?

  4. Yes! I all works with your current blog. You setup the Blogsy for your blog, then hit Publish. To add photos on the post, read and watch the video how to do that. It is confusing unless you see how it is done. If you currently use a Mac, it would be very simple to access your photos, but I am a PC, so it took a bit of learning to find my photos...

  6. Hi Margaret,

Congrats on your new home! It looks lovely. I don't know about the blogsy app but I did have to use the blogger app while I was in the Caribbean all winter. It's not great but it is doable. You have to take your photos with the iPad because that you can only access the photos you already have or else use an internet based photo storage site (like drop box). It is very basic and you won't be able to do any photo editing but it is workable if you have to. Have fun!

  7. Hi Margaret, It is wonderful to see you back to your art and blog. Congratulations on your new home!! I agree with the others,,,,,try the Blogsy app. I works great and the posts show up on my regular blog and look the same as if I was using blogger. Give it a trial run though to get used to it! Have a great trip. I love Cape Cod!
