Very nice painting Margaret, full of colors and light and very much like what you have seen in Paris. I love it as well as the market scene. I hope you have fully recovered from this nasty flu Isn't it better to catch that in winter ?? Amicalement from Jacqueline- Versailles
I will live through your paintings, a trip to Paris. You have captured, what must be the flavor of the city in these first two paintings. Love the color. Love your work, love your musing words. Feel better, Ruth
This is really beautiful Margaret. I saw your work at the Oglethorpe exhibit- just gorgeous! I am just starting out in pastels, and am wondering- what brand do you prefer? Do you typically start with an underpainting?
I don't underpaint; I use a toned board, like PastelBord or La Carte. The pastels I use: Schmincke, Terry Ludwig, Art Spectrum, Unison. The softer the better.
Join my video demo presentation as I paint the nude (a very discreet back view) from beginning sketch to completion. My presentation includes a step-by-step handout and a reference photo. I hope to see you there. Thursday, August 17, at 1:10 p.m. Click here to register: https://store.streamlinepublishing.com/products/pastel-live-2023?ref=MargaretDyer
